Top 5 things that...

...made me smile this week.

5. Zion has been so good lately with James. Just the other day the two had a conversation. Zion woofed and James babbled back. They took turns, and both seemed to know what the other was saying. It was so very cute!

4. We were visited by the sweet Priest girls again this week (we are so lucky!). James enjoys being surrounded by pink! And who wouldn't they are such sweet girls.

3. Here is my boy pulling up in the pack and play. It is so nice to work in the kitchen and have him keep me company. What a sweet boy!

2. Watching James commando crawl all over the house. He has gotten really fast, and will wander after me if I am walking around.

1. Dog toys are fun! James had been going for Zion's toys as they are much more fun then his own. Here he is inspecting a tennis ball, that he will soon throw to the floor so Zion can chase after it.

Big walker

James continues to amaze us here in the Turner household with his walking skills. He gets more balanced every day, and soon I will really be chasing after him. He likes to get into everything that he can reach, and even damaged a toy that was indestructible when he threw it. The boy has a very mighty throw!

This past weekend we set up our baby gates and so far they have been wonderful. The house is far from "baby proof" but we are on our way!

Here he is taking some unsupported steps.

Notice how he is trying to catch Zion. James LOVES his puppy and is always working to get closer to Zion. Sometimes I think a little to close as far a Zion is concerned.

Also, have you ever reviewed your pictures from your camera and found one that you don't remember taking? Check this out of James' feet flailing in the air. It really gave me a chuckle because it perfectly captures my busy boy.

Katie and James

Today James was in the presence of a princess....the lovely and talented Princess Katie! James was fashionably late to the play date, as he was still napping when Katie and Lisa arrived. Zion kept Katie company and he really loved Katie, especially when she would drop her cheerios. James soon joined the fun and enjoyed watching Katie crawl all over the place. Pretty soon he'll be able to keep up with her!

James trying to get Mommy to help him chase after Katie.

Sweet Katie on the go. She has the most beautiful smile!
Thanks for coming over to play Katie and Lisa, hopefully we can do this again soon.

So brave!

Walking is so neat but yet so challenging! James is starting to let go of my hands when I am walking with him, but he will immediately sit down. He still likes the comfort of holding onto something. Although he is starting to travel between pieces of furniture, wow baby boy you are getting so brave!

Happy boys

Why are my boys so happy today? Well for starters we all had a full night sleep last night without any early morning wakings. Ahh, sweet sleep! James is really happy now that he got his appetite back. He is scarfing down bottles and carrots and yogurt like a maniac. I am so glad he is starting to eat regularly again, maybe he will regain some of the weight he lost this past week.
Zion is thrilled because it is snowing and he loves a good romp in the snow. Here he is running through the back yard like a maniac. He just can't get enough.
The snow is beautiful, and I love the way it softly covers the trees behind our house.

John also loves the snow, but given that snow always causes lots of traffic he might not be so excited on his way home today. Stay safe John, we'll be here waiting for you with some hot cocoa!

ADDENDUM: So saying James' appetite was back was an understatement. He just singlehandedly consumed 10 ounces of food at one sitting. Who is this kid?

Watch out...he spits

James is starting to mimic us with the razzing sounds....so cute! The only downside is the massive amount of drool that is produced. But right now drool is good because it means he is well hydrated. So hooray for drool!

Getting into mischief

I am a sucker for my sick baby and pretty much let him do what he wants. A previous posting showed how much he loved the computer, so when he wanted to play with the keyboard, John and I let him. Somehow our genius baby changed a few settings that we are still trying to figure out how to switch back. Now the only question is, did this smart baby get his daddy's genius gene or his mommy's nerdy gene. Only time will tell....we'll see if he likes to do homework. I always loved homework and did it the second I came home, and John was never much a fan of homework. But I digress, check out baby James getting into mischief on the computer.

Another fun activity when you are feeling low key is to slowly glide around Mommy's room in the walker. This is one of James' favorite things, and he just recently started playing with my robes in the corner. Look at him holding up the leopard robe in the mirror, checking himself out to see how good he looks. He knows he is a cutie pie!

Hopefully my little man will be all better soon, but for now James is still on the mend from this stomach virus. Yuck!

8 months old and on the mend

James came down with something yesterday afternoon that wiped him out. It was awful seeing my sweet baby so sick, but thankfully I think he is really starting to feel better! Here he is playing in the guest bedroom. This is one of our favorite spots because all three of us (James, puppy and I) can all fit on the bed and play. So while James plays with his toys and puppy takes a nap I fret about how to keep James hydrated. Being a mom is tough work!

it's not easy being green

Here is my sweet boy and his rubber ducky. He carries these out of the bathtub at night and I find them all over the house. They are just the perfect size to chew on, so my little teething boy loves them.

Also, on a green note James happily ate some green beans today. The key to this great success was to mix them with apple flavored yogurt. Green beans plus apple yogurt equals crazy delicious!

Here is James helping Daddy on the computer. He gets so excited when we let him press the buttons on the laptop. So excited that he will balance on his toes to see the screen. I love this kid!

Little All Star

Here is a photo of our little all star baby - just look at that sweet smile! He is sporting his new christmas outfit from his Great Aunt Paula. Oh he makes my heart melt. And speaking of his sweet smile, tooth number 5 is starting to come in. This explains some of his crankiness lately. Although with a smile like that who can be upset with sweet baby James?

Also, below is a sweet moment between Daddy and baby. John is such a wonderful father and James LOVES when he gets home from work. These two just giggle and play until bedtime!
