Birthday Party

15 nerf guns + pinata + cupcakes + pizza = a lot of tired kiddos (and parents)

At one point it became boys versus girls, where all the girls claimed the upper deck and the boys were forced to take cover behind the fence. So much fun!

Happy Birthday James!

Shots and Tears

Mary had her 2 month visit today.  She is staying right on her growth curve, weighing in at 12 pounds and 9 ounces (75%) and measuring 23.5 inches (95%). She was sweet as pie until the shots, but even then she was a brave girl and only cried a little.  Her poor brothers, on the other hand, almost fell apart during the shots.  They had been so proud to tell the doctor all about their beautiful baby sister and tell all the ways they help her.  Then came the shots. I am not going to name names, but there was one brother screaming "why are they doing that to her?!?" over and over, while one brother plugged his ears and may have had a few tears.  One brother may also have declared that his little sister would NOT be having any more shots. It is easy to see how much this little girlie is  adored by her bothers.

Walking and Talking

Today during our morning walk we again were discussing more children and pets:

Luke: Mommy, we just need a few more kids and then we would have 8. Also, if puppy doesn't die we would only need 2 more dogs to have 3.

Me: Luke, if we had 8 kids where would they all sleep?

James: they could share our bunk bed or sleep in the floor in my room.

Luke: yeah, on the floor.

Me: do you really think someone would want to sleep on your floor?  Would you like too?

Luke: No.  But they might.

James: they could share my bed!

Luke: or we could just get a bigger house with a bigger yard.

James:  they could just share my bed! (Kinda annoyed that Luke didn't share his  vision)

Somehow in the whole conversation the fish was dropped out of the equation.  So maybe Luke does want more siblings, and not just a fish as previously thought.

To end, some pictures of sweet Mary.  She loves her playmate...especially her guard dog.

Wake Up!

This is what Mary woke up to after her morning nap.  Didn't bother her at all, she might have even giggled.  The boys are already eagerly planning a trio of costumes for Halloween.

Brothers

Going on a walk with my brothers makes me so tired!  Just watching them makes my momma tired.

Happy Birthday James!

UCannot believe he is 6!  When I was up with Mary around  2am I thought of that morning 6 years ago when we welcomed sweet James.  We were so thrilled that somewhere we have a long video of him just sleeping that might be like 10 minutes long.  Can you tell we were excited to be parents?!

So in honor of Janes' 6th birthday, here are 6 crazy things the boys have said just this morning.

1. I asked the boys if they took the dog outside..response: "Yes, and we went potty outside too" oh dear.

2. James teasing Luke: "I'm older!"
Luke's response: "I'm taller"

3. James: "I am older then Luke and Mary. Mommy how old are you? (Insert response) wow, you are really old"

4. James saw his birthday sign when he came downstairs. It says "happy birthday James and Daddy". James says "Daddy it is NOT your birthday yet."

5. I started singing happy birthday to James when he walked into our room this morning. "You cannot sing without cake! Do I get cake for breakfast?"

6. "The best part of being 6 is now I am smarter then...anybody!"

Pictures of Mary

I have been getting requests for more pictures if our sweet baby girl. So here are some of my favorites from our first 6 weeks.

Choices

The other day Luke gave us a choice:

1. We can have a family with 8 kids and 3 dogs. (Currently 5 kids and 2 dogs short)

Or

2. We can have 3 kids, 1 dog and 1 fish ( all we need is a fish!)

Which do you think we should choose?

Take your family to work day

Today I took the kids to visit daddy at work. It was a fun time complete with "special lunch" at McDonalds.

Luke remarked that his favorite things were the escalators and donuts. James liked seeing daddy's office and shaking everyone's hand. A food critic and diplomat on the making.

Mary slept the entire time, but was adored by everyone who walked past us. Including the sweet military professionals that gave me my visitor badge. Amazing someone so little could have do many admirers.
