Do you think...

...James is trying to tell me something?

A typical Sunday evening

This Sunday was a very relaxed day in our household. We went to church this morning and then out to lunch for hamburgers. James sat next to his best friend Eli, and the two had fun sharing toys and even snack! Eli was so sweet and shared his rice cakes with James. So sweet!

James didn't get any hamburgers at lunch, but for dinner he had beef stew. Surprisingly he loved it! He hasn't been too keen on meats yet, but he ate a good portion happily! The best part about beef stew is it gets all over his face.
So that means it is time for a bath!
James loves his duckies the best at bath time.
Until of course he finds Mr. Frog. Look at his sweet little grin!
And yes, his face is still covered in beef stew.
Ah! All clean and all smiles! Ta da, here is a clean baby boy!

When bath time is over James is wrapped in his soft fluffy towel.
And, this is what we call the "baby burrito".

Will you be my valentine?

Here we are at our Junior Prom, just after our first Valentines together. If I remember correctly John brought me roses and made me feel like a princess, and I think I made him some baked goods. Not much has changed in 2008. John brought me some roses that are beautiful and he still makes me feel like a princess. Unfortunately I am too busy to cook, but that is probably best if we ever want to look as skinny as we did in high school. Ha! So take out Chinese it is!

Happy Valentines Day!

9 month check-up

James made it through his 9 month check-up with flying colors. Although, upon seeing James' very active nature, the doctor did suggest that we baby-proof one room of our house VERY VERY well, so there is at least one place that he can play however he pleases. This was right after he tugged at her stethoscope. Oh, silly boy!

Here are his stats:

Height: 29.5 inches (75-90%)
Head Circ: 18.25 cm (90%)
Weight: 21 pounds, 8 ounces (50-75%)

As you can see James has been slimming out, which the doctor assured is very normal around 9 months as they start to move around more on their own. And move around on his own he sure is doing! His commando crawl is so fast, he can almost chase puppy around the house. Look out Zion, here comes James!

My smallest valentine

Here I am with my smallest valentine. Aren't we cute!
We dressed James in his finest pjs hoping that he would get some sleep while John and I attended the church's valentines banquet. I don't think he got much rest with all the excitement in the nursery, but at least he was nice and cozy!

James gave Mommy and Daddy an early valentines present by being such a good boy and giving us the night off! We ate steak, enjoyed a valentines themed show, and spent time with good friends. Thanks sweet baby boy, you are the best!

9 months old

Today we celebrated James' 9 month birthday! I can't believe it! He decided to pull out his bag of tricks and show us how big he is walking with his toy car.

What a big boy!

Babbling

Here is my sweet boy all smiles the last couple of days! He and Daddy had a great time hanging out all day on Monday. They even went to the park and played in the swings. What a lucky boy!

This morning James has been babbling a lot. I listen very carefully when he babbles to see if he is going to say "Mama" and today he got really close. It went something like this:

mmmmmmow
mmmmmaw

My little rascal

Last night John and James had a boys night, while I went out with some girls. I had a blast, and I think James and Daddy had a great time playing at home with puppy. John built a cozy fire, and all three of them (Zion included) played in the basement. I didn't get home until very late, so John took care of the bedtime routine too. John even shampooed James' hair during bath time. Although this morning James woke up with new hairdo. Just look at my little Alfalfa with that cowlick!
A view from the side, check out the curvature on that cowlick! No matter what I do, it will not budge. Though I haven't tried hard to tame James' hair, because I think he looks cute all the time.

My little guy is all smiles, even though he has the sniffles. He loves his yogurt (with oatmeal and mashed banana)!

Have a great Friday!

Top 5 things that...

...made me smile this week.

5. Zion has been so good lately with James. Just the other day the two had a conversation. Zion woofed and James babbled back. They took turns, and both seemed to know what the other was saying. It was so very cute!

4. We were visited by the sweet Priest girls again this week (we are so lucky!). James enjoys being surrounded by pink! And who wouldn't they are such sweet girls.

3. Here is my boy pulling up in the pack and play. It is so nice to work in the kitchen and have him keep me company. What a sweet boy!

2. Watching James commando crawl all over the house. He has gotten really fast, and will wander after me if I am walking around.

1. Dog toys are fun! James had been going for Zion's toys as they are much more fun then his own. Here he is inspecting a tennis ball, that he will soon throw to the floor so Zion can chase after it.

Big walker

James continues to amaze us here in the Turner household with his walking skills. He gets more balanced every day, and soon I will really be chasing after him. He likes to get into everything that he can reach, and even damaged a toy that was indestructible when he threw it. The boy has a very mighty throw!

This past weekend we set up our baby gates and so far they have been wonderful. The house is far from "baby proof" but we are on our way!

Here he is taking some unsupported steps.

Notice how he is trying to catch Zion. James LOVES his puppy and is always working to get closer to Zion. Sometimes I think a little to close as far a Zion is concerned.

Also, have you ever reviewed your pictures from your camera and found one that you don't remember taking? Check this out of James' feet flailing in the air. It really gave me a chuckle because it perfectly captures my busy boy.
