Beam me up, Scotty

The resemblance is uncanny... and no, I have no idea why he likes Paige's headbands. What is almost more intriguing is how Paige knew right off the bat that the Star Trek character's name was Geordi LaForge. I am currently developing my strategy to ensure this house isn't turned into a Treky stronghold. Warp speed ahead!

Good Morning!

So this morning Luke was sleeping in (as the norm) and James and I went downstairs for a quiet breakfast. After breakfast I was putting the dishes away and suddenly realized I couldn't hear James. I hoped with all my might he was just quietly playing books, but realistically knew James doesn't do anything quietly. Guess where I found him....

Yup, that's Luke's room. There he is standing by the crib.

I don't know if he woke Luke up, or if he heard Luke talking to himself and went to check things out. Although my guess is he wanted to play with Luke's crib toys.

But Luke was happy to see him!

And ignore my double chin in this picture and focus on my youngest son. He is really starting to hold his head all on his own! Oh Luke, I am so proud of you!

Cereal, Rolling and Bubbles

Today was quite a day for my little men. We started out the morning will lots of sniffles and coughing, poor guys have been sick all weekend. Although we still managed to have some fun.

Saturday Luke had his first taste of rice cereal, and today when he saw me get it out he looked a little excited. He only ate about 5 spoonfuls each day, but it's a start!
Luke is also really starting to roll around. Tonight he amazed me by rolling after his ball all by himself with no help. It may not seem like much, but for Luke this is a huge improvement. I am so proud of my little boy! (note the tape on his back is part of his physical therapy)
James drained all the water from his bath, but then didn't want to get out. Silly boy! He was surrounded by toys and bubbles and had a great time.
And here is the amazing Luke again lifting his feet up. He loves those toes!

Neighborhood Busy Body

The neighbors are getting new siding on their house and James has been busy watching the construction workers all day. We went outside to run an errand and he ran over to talk to them like they were his BFFs. He was greeted with a big hello and an explanation on the big red trailer. He loved it and didn't want to get in the car to run our errands...I had to drag him away from all the excitement!

Sometimes he gets distracted and comes inside to play, but then Zion alerts him to movement outside.

He even was trying to look at them out his own window...

...that is until he realized he could climb onto his changing table and play with the portable dvd player.

Oh James, you get away with so much because you are so cute.

Water Park

This past weekend we went to a water park for James' friend Cody's birthday party. It was awesome! James was a little skeptical at first, but by the end you couldn't drag him out of the water. We ended up dragging him out when they started to evacuate the pool because some kid threw up or something. Gross. I wasn't too worried though because I am pretty sure we were swimming in chlorine with a drop of water added.

Luke, on the other hand really didn't care much for the water park. He and I went in and splashed a little, but he mostly just wanted to watch all the kids playing. So after about an hour of watching James zoom down the slide and splash water everywhere, Luke and I dried off and had a bottle and watched the excitement!

James demolished two whole cupcakes once he was all dried off. Let me say that again, he ate two cupcakes all by himself. My boy who doesn't like desserts. We are definitely going back to this water park again really soon!

Tummy Time

Little Luke needs to do lots of tummy time. In fact our PT has recommended 5 hours a day. At least now he is starting to like tummy time, or that would mean 5 hours of screaming. I am so glad he is such an amenable child.

So far he is doing really well with all his new exercises. Pretty soon he will be one buff little guy.

Quiet Days

Lately we have been enjoying some really nice quiet days at home. We stay inside most days due to the frigid weather so sometimes we do crazy things like have bath time at 10AM just to keep ourselves from going stir crazy. The bath time trick at odd hours works every time!

James has really developed into his own independent reader. I find him all over the house surrounded by a pile of books, just looking at the pictures on each page. It is really cute. I now have baskets of books on every level, and almost in every room because he can do this for hours.

And here is Luke doing his new favorite activity...putting anything he can get his hands on in his mouth. In the picture below he has a choice to make...which peg should I put in first. If I remember correctly the orange peg won. Lucky orange peg!

James has also started to mimic Luke with putting things in his mouth. Luke is even enabling him by giving him different toys to "try". These two boys are going to be a lot of trouble when they are both running around the house.

Guess who #2

Any idea on the identity of the baby on the left? I was struck by the similarity between Luke and mystery baby while sorting through some old pictures.

ANSWER: Thanks for all the guesses! The baby on the left is my brother Morgan. Luke sure does look like his Uncle in this picture!

Happy Boys
