James and the Gang

And by "gang" I mean the gang from Tarry Town Airport. Meet the gang.
Some funny things that have happened lately....

1. Savannah (silver supersonic jet) went missing. Actually her face fell off and I had to perform some emergency repairs. So while she was "missing" Big Jake (silver plane) had to stand in for her when James played. It was pretty funny!

2. James likes to keep the gang on the dinning room table. Gives him a nice place to act out his favorite episodes.
3. Luke always gets Lina and Tracy, even though he really would like Herky the helicopter. James' rules.
4. The planes even help us eat breakfast. Although they just watch. James knows if he starts to play, the planes all go on timeout.

5. James does funny voices for all the planes. Check out his voice for Revvin' Evan the fire engine. Kind of a long video, so prepare yourself. Although as a bonus you also get to see Luke's amazing acrobatic skills.

Snack

John found Luke snacking away in the kitchen. Just chillin', minding his buisness and having some frosted mini wheats. Yum!

Happy Valentines Day

To spice up your day, here is a picture of John and I taken back in college the summer before we were married. We were in Southern California at the wedding of our dear friends Sara and John. I had no idea that we would be married just a year later...but apparently John had it all worked out and had even been ring shopping at this point. Love you sweetie!

Happy Valentines Day!

Snow Walk

It is a beautiful day! We have blue skies, a chill in the air and tons of snow everywhere. John and James were going out to shovel the last few inches off our walkway.

Luke really wanted to join in the fun. So we bundled him up really well. The only skin showing were around his eyes...and around his ankles because big boy is so tall.

James kicked the snow and thought he was so smart.

Most of the neighbors have shoveled their sidewalks. It feels a little like you are running through a tunnel.
Zion bounding through some snow. He literally disappeared in between bounds.

We are expecting nine to twelve inches again tomorrow night. Good times! What is the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Snowed In

So we are again snowed in here in Virginia. Which is fine with us, we are a house full of sniffles anyway. The snow is so pretty on the trees, and brrr is it cold.

So far James, Luke and John have succumbed to the cold. I am the last one standing, for now at least. I figure it is only a matter of time. So we spent the day playing, eating pizza and watching movies. Pretty nice Saturday actually, except for the constant sneezing and coughing around me.

Top Chef Luker

Given the choice, which entree would you order at Cafe Luke? I think the fish-banana-lemon soup looks just delightful!
Sweet James watching movies. He has been so content to just sit and rest on the couch.

The boys playing the piano on Friday (snow day #1). James didn't want to share the piano bench.

Get Well Soon

As if not getting a good nights sleep in the last 2 weeks wasn't enough, now big guy James has a double ear infection. Ouch! He and I literally pulled what felt like an all nighter last night. I didn't even do that in college - always ultra nerdy by getting my assignments done early.

So we need less of this....
and more of this....

I hate it when my boys get sick. So for now we are camped out in front of the TV. Daddy even surprised us with Chinese take-out for dinner. I think we will be feeling better soon.

Update Tuesday

I mean Wednesday. Is it really Wednesday? It feels like Tuesday. We are sleep deprived in the Turner household. Thank you James, we love you...but you drive us crazy!

Some funny parts of sleep deprivation:

1. I woke up to find James sleeping on the floor next to our bed in the middle of the night. No idea when he came in the room.

2. James slept through an entire shopping trip at Costco from the basket of the grocery cart.

3. Luke and Zion are the only ones who are well rested.

4. The days start to string together.

5. You start to do things you never thought you would do. Like sleep in the twin bed next to wiggly James, or let your child sleep for 6 hours on the floor because at least they were being quiet.

6. You try to be good like Super Nanny and just walk them back to bed...then John starts counting and gets to 232 times that he put James back in bed in one night. Yeah, that didn't work.

I hope this sleeping phase passes soon!

Some pictures from the past week.....

James teasing the girls by turning the piano off while they are playing. He thought he was hilarious. They didn't quite understand the humor.
John is always reading!
James and Luke sharing a quiet moment of play.
James is always up in Luke's business. Always.
We went to Cousin Wil and Cousin Maggie's basket ball games. So fun! The boys played, cheered and ate snacks. James repeated everything Auntie Stephanie said. It was like we had a little echo. Too cute!

Walking in the Woods

"mommy Mommy MOMMY! Need to go walk in the woods. Puppy doggie needs to run in the woods." ~James

The boys just come alive walking in through the leaves and mud of the soggy woods around our house. Guess I am going to need to toughen up so I can keep up with my little adventurers.

I love this picture of Luke, he is looking so old lately. When did my baby grow up?

James runs through the woods, walking is just not fast enough.

Luke and I like to stroll and feel the wind whip around us.

James slid down a hill face first in the mud. The fall only upset him momentarily because he got mud on his hands. A quick wipe on his pants and we were good to keep running.

Dirt and snails and puppy dog tails...check, check and check. That saying makes a little more sense every day!
