Boys will be boys

My two boys are really starting to let their personality show! At present, the saying "boys will be boys" totally applies. Zion has been such a sweet boy lately. He even saved me from a strange visitor a couple of days ago. Some random dude shows up my door at 7:30 AM ringing the door bell. Zion goes crazy barking downstairs. I am upstairs with James and decide that no one I know would just stop by that early in the morning and decide to not answer the door. But then in addition to the door bell there is lots of knocking. I think to myself, this person is not going to just leave on their own.

So I scoop up the baby and head downstairs. Zion is still barking his head off....so I peer through the peep hole. All I see is a random guy....so with my ferocious guard dog by my side I open the door. Side note: thankfully we now have a storm door so Zion doesn't just go racing out each time we open the front door. So here I am holding a baby with a barking dog by my side. I figure no one will mess with me now. The guy takes a step back when I open the door...either because James and I need a shower or because Zion is so scary looking. He asks if my name is Judy and says he is here for something handyman related. The rest goes like this:

Random Dude: Are you Judy?
Me: No, you must have the wrong address.
Random Dude: But this is the address they gave me!!! (note the three exclamation points, he was very insistent that I was in fact a woman named Judy) You are Judy and I am here to (insert some task that a handyman does..I don't remember what he actually said).
Me: No, I am not Judy. What address did they give you.

At this point he fumbles through a stack of papers and pulls out his mapquests directions. I look through the storm door at the paper he holds up. I realize he has the correct house number, but he is on the wrong street.

Me: You have the wrong street.
Random Dude: Oh, how do I get to this street? (isn't this what the mapquest directions were for?)

Short story long I give him very vague directions because we just moved here a month ago, and send him on his way. Ever since Zion was such a good guard dog I have been spoiling him. I think he really enjoys this and has even taken to sunning himself on our back deck. See picture below of my spoiled rotten puppy!

And here is an update on James. Everything that he can reach goes directly in his mouth. Including both hands at the same time! That is amazing! I don't think my mouth is big enough to fit both my hands!
Here is my boy playing with the rattle on his swing. He is just starting to be interested in this toy bar thingy. He is also holding the pacifier. He much prefers his fingers to the pacifier and instead likes to pull it out of his mouth and wave it in the air. Not really the intended purpose, but it makes him happy!

I love my boys!

That was a busy and exciting morning!
Zion has a super keen sense of hearing and is very protective. Good job Zion.

Love the pictures of that sweet babe of yours. Good idea not to grill him last night, heh. I am definitely going to hang out with you guys much more as Jay grows too much between visits. Hopefully I'll see you (the royal you, dogs and boys included) this weekend!
