Funny Boys

Luke's cutest thing ever: More please. (He signs this with the sweetest little grin. Now if only I knew what he wanted...)
Grossest thing ever: Luke was brushing his teeth and dipped his toothbrush in the toilet.

Recent Jamesisms:
*Daddy go to big work in silver car.
*Daddy has coffee, Daddy needs to take a sip.
*Good job Mommy! Mommy is a good mommy.
*Thank you for lunch. You're welcome.
*This looks delicious. Mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm.
*Puppy, he is a good puppy doggie. He is a black Clifford.
*Daddy put head on red car, James put head on Mater. (James' pillow has a picture of cars)

Brothers

Today....

*Luke fed James half of his waffle. Not with fingers mind you, but with his fork.
* James covered Zion with a blanket and told him to stay in bed until the clock turned yellow. (James has a color changing clock for nap and bedtimes)
*James and Luke played on the toddler playground. James didn't want to go down a slide until Luke had gone first. "Luke's turn!"

Loving the way these two interact together!

Spring is here!

It's time to stop and smell the flowers!

And take lots of long walks to the park. (only holding onto one hand, go Luker!)

I find that I am lacking in much news to report. The boys are loving the warm weather and I am loving a new food blog. Loving that blog a little too much. This morning we tried to make Ms. Humble's raspberry ginger ice-cream but my ice-cream bowl wasn't cold enough and it just didn't work. Although James loved pushing all the buttons to help. We did however successfully make some yummy pound cake.

And just for fun, some of the strange things I found myself saying today. (Thanks Emily for the idea!)
1. James don't bother puppy when he is going to the bathroom.
2. James don't touch Clovers backside.
3. James don't put sticks in your mouth, you are not a dog.
4. Luke, don't eat Mommy's grocery list.
5. Luke I will not help you sit on Clover.

The list goes on and on...see any patterns forming?

This and That

Some news from our house to yours....

1. James is starting to ride and pedal his tricycle. WOHOO! It has only taken us a year to finally convince him it would be fun.2. Luke is walking everywhere! It is so much fun to see him being so independent. Although our quest to re-baby proof the house is underway.

3. The weather has been so warm that we are wearing shorts! Yes shorts! The boys have the cutest legs.

4. Luke continues to be an adventurous eater. (Sorry no picture for this one). Last night he demanded that he dip his bread in the garlic olive oil. He even went back for seconds and thirds. His favorite snack right now is mashed avocado with chips.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Our lucky Clover

I simply say "sit" and I can get three of my critters to be still.
Beautiful blue skies, it's our lucky day!

Yum Yum

I was inspired recently by Mrs. Humble of Seattle to try a new recipe. And, because I don't have any extra time to spend on dinner I took a shortcut. The result was delicious...albeit not as gorgeous as the inspiration, but delicious nonetheless.

Luke and James both gave their seal of approval, so you know these are really yummy!

Finished product
James surprised us all by trying them.

Prosciutto Palmiers
Original Recipee from "Not So Humble Pie"
(modified for those without the time to make puff pastry from scratch)

Prosciutto Palmiers
1 sheet of puff pastry (from your grocers freezer)
2-3 tablespoons tomato paste
8 slices prosciutto
1/2 cup grated italian blend cheese
fresh ground pepper

Spread the tomato paste evenly over the surface of the puff pastry. Arrange the prosciutto slices on top and then sprinkle with the grated cheese. Roll or fold the two sides to the center. Transfer the log to a cutting board and cut 1/4" slices. Place these onto a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Yummo!

Pictures from the Zoo

James loves the "baby horses", aka the donkeys.

They actually let the apes climb through the zoo on these high-wires! I always wondered about these and today we got to see it in action.

New Trick

Uncle Morgan always likes to teach James a new trick while he is in town. This time, Clover was part of James' inspiration. Here she is jumping and biting some tree branches.

And here is James. He thought this was a great idea.
James "walking" the 2 dogs.
Brothers. So sweet!

Date Night

Morgan and Julia gave me the best birthday present, a surprise date night with John! John and I had a great time going out to a yummy dinner. I didn't have to feed anyone while I ate and I didn't have to share my dessert. Heaven!

James and Luke happily stayed home. In the 3 hours we were gone, James and Luke got to do the following:
*Watch a movie (Get Smart) with Uncle Mowg
*Learn some new words like "satellite"
*Eat cookies and fruit snacks
*Luke showed off his amazing walking skills
*Luke got to read his favorite book "Going to the Zoo" with Auntie Julia about 20+ times
*Pizza for dinner
*Stay up way past their bedtimes

They had the best time! This morning James ran downstairs looking for Uncle Morgan. Then he promptly asked "Where is Auntie Julia?"

We are having a GREAT weekend!

Animal Noises

First a cute picture of the boys from this weekend. Normally I don't dress them alike anymore because it really bothers me when people think they are twins. Strange, because when they were first born I couldn't get enough matching outfits. Anyway, on Sunday morning I couldn't resist because they looked so cute.

This morning James announced he was going to sing in animal noises. Hillarious! Enjoy!
