I was inspired recently by Mrs. Humble of Seattle to try a new recipe. And, because I don't have any extra time to spend on dinner I took a shortcut. The result was delicious...albeit not as gorgeous as the inspiration, but delicious nonetheless.
Luke and James both gave their seal of approval, so you know these are really yummy!

Prosciutto Palmiers
Original Recipee from "Not So Humble Pie"
(modified for those without the time to make puff pastry from scratch)
Prosciutto Palmiers
1 sheet of puff pastry (from your grocers freezer)
2-3 tablespoons tomato paste
8 slices prosciutto
1/2 cup grated italian blend cheese
fresh ground pepper
Spread the tomato paste evenly over the surface of the puff pastry. Arrange the prosciutto slices on top and then sprinkle with the grated cheese. Roll or fold the two sides to the center. Transfer the log to a cutting board and cut 1/4" slices. Place these onto a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Yummo!

My word, Luke is getting so grown up looking. Where did the little guys go?
Oh man, my mouth is watering! Puff pastry is not part of my life right now, sadly, but I noted the recipe anyways! :) And I think they're beautiful looking, very fancy!
