So I am completely intrigued by the concept of steaming a chocolate cake. So much so that we have round two for dessert tonight. I made a few alterations to the original recipe, and thought I would pass them along just in case anyone actually was going to try it....
Here is my modified list of ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
1 heaping cup Reese's peanut butter chips
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
1 heaping cup Reese's peanut butter chips

I am sure my waist line will not appreciate many more attempts at steamed pudding, but my taste buds can't get enough!
What do my little babushkas think?

The peanut butter version sounds yummy. The boys look silly and I'mm sure they loved the cake.
Yumm. To do list for sunday: 1. Make steamed pudding 2. take out trash and recycling 3. laundry
I'm looking forward to trying it using a pan covered in foil. I'll let you know if it works.
That was my question, Paige. I did check out the recipe, and noticed you had to have that special pan, so I disregarded it (at least for now). Do you have that covered, molded pan thingy?
This is going to be my new catchphrase. "_____ stop ____ing, Mark needs to share your _____." This can work on almost anything. Bill Gates stop donating, Mark needs to share your money.
C - Can't wait to hear how it turns out!
A - Yes I have the special pan, but I heard you can use anything as long as you cover it with tinfoil, it juts might take longer to cook.
M - Very funny Hallyb. Good to know my three year old is so cool he starts new trends. =)
