Christmas time is here!

It is beginning to feel like Christmas in our house....the stockings are carefully hung on the banister and the tree and garlands are lit and decorated. Best of all the Christmas cards are starting to arrive. I love Christmas cards. I even have an album of years past....kinda nerdy but really fun to look through. Notice the "Christmas caterpillars". We made these a while ago, and James really wanted to hang them on the tree, but had to settle on a table to display as they didn't balance well on the branches. Also we have wise men coming to see baby Jesus in cars and trucks. These boys are pretty funny!

Although my favorite thing is how the kids are really enjoying the Christmas story. Here it is in James words:

The wise men followed a star to baby Jesus' birthday party and brought him presents. There were no rooms in the inn so Jesus had to sleep in the animal's feeding box. Baby Jesus wasn't hungry, he just wanted to sleep. Mother Mary and Daddy Joseph said happy birthday baby Jesus.

Great Christmas photos. I love the creche with animals and cars visiting. I always like your creative display each year of Christmas cards.

What a great idea to put them in an album! I have all mine, just to sift through at times and remember, but never thought of a way to preserve/display them. Totally stealing this idea. Also...what are your caterpillars made out of?

I forgot to mention that I really like how you change the "kids art" in the frames above your buffet. I am sure they LOVE having their work displayed.

Amy - A cardboard egg carton plus paint equals a caterpillar. The kids loved it!

Paige you have the best ideas! And I'm really impressed with James' Christmas explanation! Love the cars at the Fisher Price Nativity scene. Ours currently has air traffic controllers and pilots also present. ;)

Yeah, and I'm lucky if my little people nativity set is even close to the table they are supposed to be displayed on!
