James' Nana and Papa (John's parents)were in town this weekend! Our big adventure on Saturday was going to a neighborhood yard sale. James was a lucky boy and got all sorts of toys and books!
See pictures below of some of his new treasures.

A visit from Bambi
Last night we had our second visit by the local deer. Usually they stay inside the forest, but last night they ventured out to just beyond our fence to say hello. Needless to say we grabbed the camera, and started snapping. Each time James would start to talk, the deer would glance up at us and then go back to eating. Zion's woofs didn't bother them at all. These must be very brave deer to only notice the 4 month old. James is pretty scary. =)
I also got some pictures of James and Zion as we relaxed last night. Zion LOVES to look out the front screen door. Although, he has learned how to kick it open if it is not locked....we found that out the hard way last night. John was putting James down for his evening nap, and Zion decided to take off. Picture me running down the street calling for my mischievous doggie, and then carrying him (all 50 pounds) back to the house because he didn't have his collar on. It was quite a sight! I bet the neighbors don't know what to make of us...

Hooray for daddy!
For the past few days Jay and I have been under the weather! It is no fun to have a cold, and it is even worse if your sweet baby gets sick! I have hated seeing his little nose running and hearing him sneeze! He has been waking up almost every 2 hours at night....so I have not been getting much sleep. We were so lucky to have John stay home yesterday and take care of us! I think I slept almost the entire day, and John made sure James went down for his naps too! John is such a good daddy to take such good care of us!
I think we are finally on the mend, as both James and I have been feeling much better today! I think it is all due to the tender loving care from John yesterday. Three cheers for John! Hip hip hooray!
Below is a picture of James and John that was taken this weekend! Fall is here with some great cool weather, so we are now starting to bring out the sweaters and hoodies!

Safari Time
By popular demand I am posting a video of Jay enjoying his safari exer-saucer! He likes to play or suck on almost all of the toys. My favorite is when he bats at the monkey. He gets a very serious face as he prepares to smack it, sending the monkey twirling in circles.
Jay was a little camera shy this morning, but he still is still cute as pie as far as I am concerned. Enjoy!

4 months young
I can't believe that four months have passed since James was born! Wow, time is flying by. Today he had a great check-up and even gave the doctor a smile and a couple coos. James sure knows how to sweet talk those around him! He was a tough guy and didn't cry until the third shot was administered (4 total).
Here are his current stats:
Height: 25.75 inches (75%)
Weight: 17 pounds and 2 ounces (90%)
Head Circ: 17 1/8 cm (75%)
James got a clean bill of health and was given the go ahead to start some baby cereal. You can expect some messy pictures of his first cereal sometime in the next week! Stay tuned!

Boys will be boys
My two boys are really starting to let their personality show! At present, the saying "boys will be boys" totally applies. Zion has been such a sweet boy lately. He even saved me from a strange visitor a couple of days ago. Some random dude shows up my door at 7:30 AM ringing the door bell. Zion goes crazy barking downstairs. I am upstairs with James and decide that no one I know would just stop by that early in the morning and decide to not answer the door. But then in addition to the door bell there is lots of knocking. I think to myself, this person is not going to just leave on their own.
So I scoop up the baby and head downstairs. Zion is still barking his head off....so I peer through the peep hole. All I see is a random guy....so with my ferocious guard dog by my side I open the door. Side note: thankfully we now have a storm door so Zion doesn't just go racing out each time we open the front door. So here I am holding a baby with a barking dog by my side. I figure no one will mess with me now. The guy takes a step back when I open the door...either because James and I need a shower or because Zion is so scary looking. He asks if my name is Judy and says he is here for something handyman related. The rest goes like this:
And here is an update on James. Everything that he can reach goes directly in his mouth. Including both hands at the same time! That is amazing! I don't think my mouth is big enough to fit both my hands!
Here is my boy playing with the rattle on his swing. He is just starting to be interested in this toy bar thingy. He is also holding the pacifier. He much prefers his fingers to the pacifier and instead likes to pull it out of his mouth and wave it in the air. Not really the intended purpose, but it makes him happy!

I love my boys!

Random Dude: Are you Judy?
Me: No, you must have the wrong address.
Random Dude: But this is the address they gave me!!! (note the three exclamation points, he was very insistent that I was in fact a woman named Judy) You are Judy and I am here to (insert some task that a handyman does..I don't remember what he actually said).
Me: No, I am not Judy. What address did they give you.
At this point he fumbles through a stack of papers and pulls out his mapquests directions. I look through the storm door at the paper he holds up. I realize he has the correct house number, but he is on the wrong street.
Me: You have the wrong street.
Random Dude: Oh, how do I get to this street? (isn't this what the mapquest directions were for?)
Short story long I give him very vague directions because we just moved here a month ago, and send him on his way. Ever since Zion was such a good guard dog I have been spoiling him. I think he really enjoys this and has even taken to sunning himself on our back deck. See picture below of my spoiled rotten puppy!

Professionally good looking
John and I are officially models for stationary. Yes, you read that correctly. If you don't believe me check it out:
First go to: www.babyidesign.com
Second, click on "Collections" and then "Soiree"
Third, view item numbers BIDSPC07 and BIDSPC19
The stationary is really cute, plus they have great taste in choosing pictures for their samples.=)

Sitting Pretty
Jay is starting to sit all by himself! He is no longer a big fan of reclining, and if he is able he will hoist himself up into an upright sitting position (even in the bouncy seat!). Although without some support he doesn't last too long...
...and then he will be on the floor.
His other big fascination is with his hands. Notice in all three picture above he has his right hand in his mouth.

Lucky Game Day
Yesterday was the official start of college football! James got to sit and watch the GA Tech v. Notre Dame with daddy. Go Jackets! Below is James cheering on GA Tech.
The Jackets pulled out a victory with a little help from Zion's lucky four footed cousin Clover. The two doggies were best friends and played for hours. It's a good thing we have a back yard now so the doggies can have some fun too!James loves his Auntie Julia. Here we are enjoying the backyard on a nice cool evening.
Here is Uncle Morgan refereeing the puppies. Zion is going to miss Clover when she goes home!

Jump Jump!
James loves to jump! Here he is in our "Johny Jump-up" that we are borrowing from Aunt Julie. James can't get enough! He happily jumps, spins, and kicks his feet. This is his new favorite toy!
